Diesel Prices Fall 3.7 Cents to Six-Week Low

Crude oil prices plummet on European debt crisis fears

Diesel prices across the United States dropped 3.7 cents in the week ending Dec. 12, falling for the third week straight and hitting a six-week low.
The average diesel price moved to $3.894 a gallon, up 66.3 cents from a year ago but down 23 cents from the 2011 high, the U.S Energy Information Administration said.
Prices fell across the country, with the Midwest seeing the sharpest decrease, down 5.9 cents to $3.848 a gllon. Prices in the East Coast’s New England and Central Atlantic regions, along with the California, saw gas stay at $4 a gallon or above.
The average price has fallen 23 cents, or 5.6 percent, since reaching its high point during the week of May 2 at $4.124 a gallon.

Crude oil for January delivery fell 64 cents to $98.77 by the end of trading Monday on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Prices fell on continued concerns over the euro zone debt crisis.
